Remote Sensing and Radar Systems

This area focuses on activities related to the development of advanced systems for remote sensing, radar, and geospatial signal processing. The objective is to produce methodologies and technologies capable of monitoring natural, environmental, and strategic phenomena using ground-based, aerial, and space-based platforms.

Research covers SAR and ISAR radars, hyperspectral sensing, cognitive radar, distributed radar, localization, tracking, and adaptive detection. Modern artificial intelligence and tensor processing techniques are employed to enhance system resolution and robustness. Challenges include multimodal sensor fusion, operation in complex environments, and the development of distributed and cooperative architectures.
