The
Event
The second edition of the joint workshop between the Northeast Brazil SPS Chapter and the CAPES Probral project Communication, Sensing, and Allocation in Future Wireless Systems once again brought together researchers from Brazil and Germany working in the field of signal processing and its applications across various domains, fostering a broad exchange of experiences, particularly in the areas of tensor signal processing and intelligent reflecting surfaces applied to 6G communication systems.
The event offered a comprehensive technical program, presenting the latest advances in research and technology in the aforementioned areas, and featured keynote talks delivered by researchers from both countries.
In addition to the lectures, the workshop also provided ample networking opportunities for participating students, professors, and researchers, with space for questions, technical discussions, and the planning of new research partnerships in signal processing. All presented talks will undergo review by the workshop’s organizing committee, and their topics are related to peer-reviewed articles in the field.
The workshop is a pioneering initiative in the country, as it represents an international event that embraces joint activities and synergy between the Northeast Brazil SPS Chapter and other research initiatives from the participating institutions, such as projects within the CAPES Probral and CAPES Cofecub programs. It thus creates opportunities for broader dissemination of research results, enhances networking, and serves as a focal point for topics related to communication, sensing, and resource allocation through the application of signal processing techniques.
Contribution to Professionals Participating in the Event
The workshop generated substantial benefits for all professionals involved. For researchers, faculty members, and undergraduate and graduate students, it provided direct exposure to state-of-the-art advances in tensor signal processing and intelligent surfaces, as well as their applications. Participants had the opportunity to present their work, receive feedback, exchange experiences, and establish or strengthen international collaborations that can broaden the scope and impact of their research within the initiatives associated with the workshop. This exchange of knowledge accelerates capacity building, expands research perspectives, and contributes to enhancing the overall quality of academic and applied projects in both Brazil and Germany.
For international experts, the workshop offered a unique opportunity to engage with the rapidly growing scientific community in Brazil and to explore potential collaborations with local universities and research centers. This interaction helps build bridges between well-established research groups abroad and emerging initiatives in Brazil, fostering new partnerships with long-term potential.
The Northeast Brazil SPS Chapter, with the active participation of the management group of the CAPES Probral project Communication, Sensing, and Allocation in Future Wireless Systems, provided comprehensive support to ensure the success of the event by optimizing efforts and multiplying outcomes, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the regional signal processing community.
